Project Preview

A short promotional film for Hearts and Minds.  Helping to enlist fundraisers to do the Kilt Walk for charity.  I knew I wanted it to feel epic and that I’d need a kilt.  I didn’t really think about lugging all the equipment up a big hill dressed in shorts.  So, so cold.

Project Details

With the help of Mat Urey and his camera/flying skills we managed to get some amazing shots.  A lot of that was down to the majesty of nature but credit where credit is due for  Mat.  Quite an ad hoc shoot, utilising dramatic and interesting scenery as we found it.  Lots of falling over, praying for a break in the wind so we could use the drone, and a few odd looks from fellow walkers. 

A challenging shoot but no where near as challenging as The Kilt Walk.

Project Preview

Starcatchers, artist Skye Reynolds and Scots Corner Early Learning and Childcare Centre are working together to explore how creative movement, and being creative in general, can help with our feelings.  

I worked with the children and staff at Scots Corner and with Skye, to create these video resources for parents and those working in early years settings.  

Project Details

It was an absolute joy to spend a few days with everyone at Scots Corner.  Skye’s ideas worked so well and the kids and staff were incredibly playful and warm and generous.  The reaction to the camera, in particular my ‘fluffy and soooo soft’ microphone softie was absolutely hilarious.  Skills from my other work allowed me to facilitate play, and abandon any planned shots in favour of the kids incredible direction. 

For my filming head here… The light in the nearby woods made for some incredibly beautiful footage.  I love working outdoors.
